Mini Album

This is a mini album I am starting for summer. We will be having lots of changes in the house in August. One of my kids will be starting kindergarten and the other will be going to "school" full time! We will be on a tighter schedule in the fall so I wanted to make a summer album for all the fun days leading up to these two HUGE events in my house.

The album is from Scenic Route and the paper/flowers/buttons and ribbon is from my Scarlet Lime April kit. You definitely have to check out Scarlet Lime! I LOVE her kits! She definitely takes you out of your 'safety' zone when it comes to scrapbooking. I haven't added any ribbons on the ring yet, as soon as I have all the pages decorated it will be bursting with yummy colorful ribbon. This is only the cover! Thanks for looking and stopping by!

{A Baby Gift, PTI Style}

My sister and I have challenged each other to make a card using PTI's new Anniversary set. I do like the set but it doesn't scream out to me as much as other ones have so I've been struggling with what to make or how to use it. I've spent some time checking out samples I can find on different blogs. Lisa & I will post our cards in the next few days. If you have one to share, please feel free to share the link to it under our comments!

For today, I'll share a sweet baby gift I made for my sister and gave her a few months back. It includes a 6x6 album by Making Memories and an altered clipboard by Pinecone Press. The clipboards were really hard to find for some reason. I ended up buying it from Paper Popsicles. To understand how fabulous this gift really is, you need to go to Nichole Heady's blog to look at her sample. There's even a downloadable calendar which is part of why this gift is so cool. You keep track of baby's milestones during the first year by writing on the calendar, keeping it handy on the clipboard, and scrapping a page to go with that month. Have a great evening!

{Bloggers Who Inspire Me}

It was so exciting to receive the Arte y Pico award! We put a lot of thought into our blog but just haven't gotten into daily blogging due to lack of time so it was extra special to be recognized for our efforts when we still probably have only a few readers, lol. As summer draws near though I'm hoping to spend more time creating! So, I get to pick 5 bloggers who inspire. Hmmmmm?

I spend way too much time checking out other people's blogs and not enough time on my own. When I'm short on time even for that there are two blogs that I always stop by. Mostly because I love the products they use and they've gotten to blogging every day. They both happen to be PTI designers. Alli Miles & Melissa Bickford. At the blog hop over at Papertrey Ink, I found a new blogger who inspires me, Amber at the Stamping Scrapbooker. She lives in Japan! Crazy how small the blogging world is.

Now, for a few special folks...Shari Barnes inspired me to make those yummy cupcakes which won our blog the award. Check out her blog. Her cupcakes are amazing! She's a digiscrapper and that inspired me to take the Photoshop class. My last choice for the award give-back is Amy Westerman who inspired the card I'm going to post today. It was a RAK from my sister and uses stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. There is a notebook paper backgrounder as well as the nature's silohuettes stamps. I'm not sure where she got the cool flower she added or the sentiment stamp. Amy made a card like this a few weeks ago and we loved it so my sis' case'd it. Hope that's okay Amy! So simple because it's only one layer but it's gorgeous and looks awesome irl. Anyway, hope you enjoy. We had beautiful sunny weather in the 80s yesterday in the DC area and now it's cloudy and a little rainy. Enjoy your Sunday!

A Favorite...

This is one of my favorite cards! I love everything about it...the colors, the bling, the stamps the paper...

The sentiment is from PrintWorks and flower burst is from Stampendous. I used the Designer paper from Stampin Up along with some My Mind's Eye. The satin ribbon is also from SU. I added a couple Prima flowers a bling center and some of the shimmer white paper. I hope you all have a great weekend. Don't forget to look at the post below this one for some great weekend inspiration! Until next time...

Goddess of all Cupcake Bakers...

We will be back later with a card, but I just found this totally awesome blog all about cupcakes and she uses OREOS a lot! Wow! What could be better than Oreos AND cupcakes!!!!!!! She is my hero goddess! I can't believe I didn't find this earlier...check her out! The Cupcake Goddess!!!!! I want to be you! I found this blog from the great owner, Trish of Work in Progress...if you haven't tried one of her scrapbook kits, you really must!!!

Our Very First Award...

We got this award from Toni at CardsNCandles! Thanks so much! We are supposed to pass this on to 5 other worthy bloggers! Since Penny actually won it, I am going to let her come back and post 5 blogs she finds inspirational since they are all "worthy!" Thanks again Toni, it was fun visiting your blog!

{Berry Sorbet Invitation}

This isn't anything fancy but it highlights how easy and elegant Papertrey Ink products are. This week is support employee appreciation week in my school district. I made these cute and quick little invitations for our secretarial team who we are honoring with lunch and a free afternoon. To make these, I printed the invitation in word onto Papertrey White cardstock. I backed it with Berry Sorbet cardstock and used the Spiral Bouquet stamp set, one of my faves! I also used the berry sorbet polka dot ribbon. Other inks used include sweet blush and spring moss, also PTI. Gotta love Nichole Heady :-) She is truly an inspiration! Hope you like this quick idea. To the stampers of the world it will seem like nothing but believe me, these will impress all the ladies at work!! So glad to have my sis on board with the blog. Hopefully we'll have regular posts so you keep coming back. To our few friends out there, spread the word, lol!

Easter is Long Gone, but...

I know Easter is long over, but my camera wasn't working at the time. This is a stamp from the Michaels $1 bin paired with the cute Making Memories collection that you can get at Target!!! How cool is that?! I also added a prima and making memories flower. I outlined the chicks with a Sakura glitter pen to add some extra bling bling. :)

If you are a scrapbooker...check out the All About Me online class that A Million Memories is sponsoring. It is only $10 and looks like it is going to be a lot of fun! You can sign up
here.

New Stamps

These are some cards I made with my new Karen Lockhart stamps. I loved all the cards that Mish is always making with them, so I ordered these two and decided to try them out myself. I don't have Copics so I colored with SU markers, the Designer Paper is from SU and I used some Diamond Glaze for the strawberry bowl that adds some glass type effect! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping in!

{Sushi Anyone?}

So sorry it's been forever since we've posted. Still trying to get in the swing of things with the blogging....plus my sis is having a problem with her camera card so she's no help, lol! Hopefully she'll be able to post soon because she is much more creative than I am :-) First up is a card that I made with the new clear Amuse Sushi set. Love that set! At the bottom I stamped "me without you". Inside it says, "is like sushi without wasabi". Isn't that the cutest! The paper is from Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter.

The other thing I want to share.....Lemon-Cream Cheese Cupcakes. Check out the lemon zest in the icing. Don't they sound great? I got the recipe from the Kraft Foods Magazine. Yum!! They are for a colleague's birthday tomorrow. Well, I've been meaning to try out Taylor's cupcake challenge all day. Let's see if I can still accomplish that tonight :-) Have a great Monday!
