{Cuppacakeabella--TC #35}

I work in a middle school and got the brilliant idea, along with another teacher, of sponsoring a "stamping" club. The girls were awesome and we loved it and so did they :-). Problem was, we were doing it every week, stressing ourselves out trying to come up with projects and get everything prepped for them in time for the club. We'd finish one week and then before we knew it we were scrambling to come up with ideas again. We finally took a break after sponsoring for 3 quarters of the year. The girls were super disappointed and it crushed me when they'd ask "Are we having stamping club this week?" and I'd have to say no. Well, my awesome stamping compadre got promoted and is no longer at my school. So...I'm reviving the club solo. I'm going to try once a month and see how that goes. We offer a lot of other cool crafty clubs for our kids and we all kind of compete for the same students. This should work out great...when they're not stamping, they can try scrapbooking or beading or knitting! I meet with my girls next week for the 1st time this year so I figured I'd better get on trying to figure out what supplies I have on hand and what we can do because I just grab from my own stash. Luckily I've stockpiled supplies like the crafting world is going under so I've got lots to choose from...my challenge is finding enough of something to do it 35 times over, lol. Definitely have some Halloween ideas in mind but I wanted to show them how to paper piece so I got inspiration from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #35 and this is what I came up with.
PS Less than 3 weeks until my sister and I set sail for the Caribbean with the Bella herself, PTI & GinaK. We are so excited. Especially after seeing Gina's post today!!

Quick Gift

My son's MDO teacher's birthday is tomorrow and I did not get a chance to make what I had planned, so I put this little card gift set together when I came home to bring to her this afternoon. I used the PTI clear boxes and put in 6 cards and envelopes and I included a variety of different themes! Hope she likes it. Have to get more of these types of things on hand for occassions like this! I plan to do a lot of homemade gifts for teachers this year! Happy Wednesday to you all!

One More Entry...

Into the bird challenge at Lilybean's. Have you seen her Papertrey Ink samples? They are awesome!! I am really getting in the Christmas mood already! I should take that energy and inspiration and start making some teacher gifts!!! Have you seen those brownies? Umm...yum!

An Oldie, but Goodie...

Well, after my post yesterday and the release of the new PTI stamps, I decided I cannot buy anymore of those cute adorable stamps, unless I am going to actually use them, so here I went back and used a set that has not gotten a lot of my attention and made a really simple but cute card! That is why I love her stamps so much, so maybe I have just talked myself in to a few new release stamps...uh oh! Another chilly morning here and I am loving it!

A Bird Masking

I just found this bird mask from Heidi Swapp and decided to pull it out. I painted on top of the mask, peeled it off and...voila! I love how it turned out! I was always afraid to use her masks' thinking it was a ton of work, but it was really very simple. Glad that I tried something new today!
On another note...What do you think of the new PTI release? There are definitely some great stamps in this release and some awesome Christmas gift ideas! Can't wait to try a lot of them! I am excited to see what new Christmas things they will come up with for October! Well, it is so nice and breezy out today and not 98 degrees, so I am going to go out and enjoy wearing jeans!! Happy Monday!

Up for a little Challenge??

Sister ---- Are you awake? Take the sketch posted at I Heart 2 stamp - and create a card using a bella...(the due date isn't until the 18th...up for the {challenge?} And if you win the $15 buy something for me! :)

'Tweet' of You!

Looks as though I have created yet another bird card! It seems I always turn to my Cornish Heritage Farm stamps and I think Kim Hughes loves birds as much as the rest of us! The paper is from Pink Paislee but the bird is a CHF set! I also used some ribbon (gingham and polka dot is from my ever growing stash!) Thanks so much for stopping in! We finally ended up with some rain last night from Ike. Happy Sunday!

{A Bird & the Cupcake Challenge}

My sister has been doing so much stamping lately that I felt inspired to make something myself. I made a quick card that uses a bird (for the challenge on LilyBean's Paperie) and follows Taylor's Cupcake Challenge for the week!! I used Kim Hughes Mocha Chica and the paper, ribbon, and ink are all PTI--summer sunrise & dark chocolate. Running off to an outdoor concert tonight. Enjoy your evening!

Nother' Bird Card

Here is a nother' bird card made with papers
from CHF and Pink Paislee. The CHF Mocha
Chica papers were sent to me from my sister.
And I had to use them before she thought I
sold them! HA HA! They are so soft and pretty! I am going to submit
this as another entry into Lilybean's challenge. I didn't realize that so many of my cards contain bird images of one sort or another. There isn't even a stamp on this card...yikes! Thanks so much for stopping in today! Hope you have a great Saturday!

Birds Galore

OK, so I am on a bird kick right now and good thing, because LilyBean's Paperie is hosting a challenge and there is a great prize to be won! This is my 2nd entry in her challenge. I hope I win! :) For this card I used PTI Spring Moss cardstock, the bird and background stamp are both from Impress Rubber stamps and the flower is Prima. Simple simple!

On another happy note, we missed Ike and don't even know if we will be getting any rain from it. Thank God! Hope everyone else is staying safe tonight in your part of the world!

Button Tree

Here is a card I made from 2 CHF stamps...the new Mocha Chicka set and the School set both by Kim Hughes. The background paper is making memories and the chipboard tree is from Maya Road and then I added a bunch of buttons to the tree. I love how it is 3D. I did a lot of card creating this weekend and had so much fun! The kids behaved themselves and played with the scraps while I made several cards!! Overall, it was a good weekend. The only bad part was staying up late last night watching the premier episode of Season 5 Entourage and then watching Failure to Launch and the alarm clock this morning went off much too early! And even though I was awake, we almost missed the bus! Yikes!

Another Cased Card (Lot)

I have been gaining a ton of inspiration by checking out the blog of Dawn McVey. She is so super talented to put colors and textures together and I just love browsing her blog. This is a set of cards I made that I cased from her card here. I used MM pp that has a felt texture on it, along with some craft SU paper, SU taffeta white ribbon, PTI Polka dot basic stamp and various sentiments including: MFT, CHF, and odds and end stamps I get in scrapbook kits). I also used my Threading Water scallop punch! Thanks for looking and have a relaxing Sunday!!

Friday's U Rock Cards

Here are a few cards that I made with a ton of Making Memories papers and embellishments and some AC Thickers! My sister just loves the thickers and she doesn't have any (can you believe???) so as a surprise I have some coming her way....shhhh! I love how Dawn McVey always uses the phrase "You Rock" so I cased that phrase from her. Can you do that? Can you case a phrase? Well, I did and here they are! My sister and I are so looking forward to our cruise in October! Our passports arrived last week! Yippee!
