Project Life 2012 brings us back!

As you can see, it has been a really long time since we have done anything with this blog. Pretty sad! I have been unbelievably inspired by all the buzz on the internet over Project Life and have decided this is going to be my year. My husband jokes that it's Project 60 because for the past two years, that's when I have lost my momentum and Project Life has gone by the wayside. But, this year is going to be different! Now there's Pinterest and so much inspiration out there to help keep me going. I am working on getting my 2010 and 2011 half-finished albums merged into one. I tend to be all or nothing but need to be grateful that I have some memories saved from the last two years.

One tip I have to share is that in past years, I would follow some blogger advice to pre-date all the cards and insert them into the album. For me, that was a big mistake. I got so far behind and there was no way to catch up. It really discouraged me from picking it up again. This time, I'm going to do my best and if a week goes by that I don't document, I'm just going to let it go and be happy with it.

Hopefully I can get my sister to join me on this blog again! Maybe this way, it will hold me accountable. My resolution with Project Life is to spend as much time working on my own album as I do admiring everyone else's work out there. So, here's my week one and week two. I'm almost finished. Just need to finish up a few journaling cards.

I made this card for a friend who is going through a rough time right now. It uses PTI kraft cardstock, my flower punch is from Stampin Up, and a piece of fabric from my Polka Dot Whimsy kit....and some new thickers! Love those American Crafts thickers! Hope this card brightens her day! :)

From the Papertrey files comes a card using the best color ever...raspberry fizz! Sentiment is from the heart print set. I used some cosmo cricket chipboard flowers, my beloved swiss dot embossing folder and a raspberry button to finish it off. I even rounded one corner...as Nichole would do! :)

This is a case from Betsy Veldman who is becoming one of my most favorite designers ever!!!! I love her style, her color combos and everything she creates!!! I used a PTI vellum bag, my new Simply Stationary (since I didn't have Damask Designs yet) and some PTI cardstock. Here is where I got all my inspiration! I packaged this up for a gift for one of my husband's coworkers...now I can't wait to get my new Feb stamps so I can use the large damask stamp that Betsy used. :)

Valentine's Day Goodies

The kids and I went to the doctor's on Friday and on the way back we just happened to see the "HOT" sign at Krispy Kreme...which meant a stop! We wrapped some yummy cute sprinkled goodness for the bus driver and teacher at school...complete with a chocolate filled center. YUMM-O! I decorated a bag and used a large cupcake container to add 2 of the sprinkled heart doughnuts. :)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Tonight's post is inspired by Dawn's McVey's Color Challenge in celebration of Papertrey Ink's 2 year anniversary. Are you staying up for the big reveal? I have to tell you that my sister and I are *HUGE* Dawn McVey groupies. We have loved her blog for the longest time, then she became a member of the PTI design team and now she is designing her own stamps. Her knack for combining colors that you would never imagine putting together has given her a style that is immediately recognizable. My sis and I are soooo excited about the release of Damask Designs. Anyway, this card is a definite case of one of Dawn's from this week though I subbed out the stamp set for Heart Prints and the sentiment is from Verve Visuals. I used the same colors and a button from Making Memories. The card is for my sweetheart--a virtual valentine since we aren't together tonight. Wishing everyone lots of love! My sister promised to participate tonight??? Where is she?? :-)

This is one more PTI inspired card I made today. I used kraft and chocolate cardstock for the base. For patterned paper I used a mix of raspberry fizz (of course), mocha chica from Kim Huges and MM that I got out of my scarlet lime kit. The flower is Prima and I have a white plastic flower behind it from Maya Road. Sentiment stamp is Melissa Frances! :)

Here are two more cards with the Raspberry Fizz patterned paper pack! I lovey this as I have said before! I used PTI chocolate and PTI kraft and they are both gorgeous paired up with the raspberry! Heart stamp is from pink paislee, chipboard tree is from maya road, yumm-o raspberry fizz ribbon too! You can't tell, but I cut the heart out of some polkdot paper and popped it up between the two stamped hearts. Thanks for looking at all my weekend crafting!! :)

I also had fun playing with some PTI sweet blush too. Notice the theme with the chipboard birds...I was really enjoying covering theme completely in glitter and blinging them out with the crowns, etc. I love all things PT and cannot wait for the newest release!! How great does that black/white pad look and that stationary set...oh my!

Raspberry Fizz

Like you, raspberry fizz is my new favorite color!!! It goes great with almost all the other PTI colors as well! Here are two cards I made with the yumm-o raspberry fizz cardstock and some embellishments from my Scarlet Lime kit and some extras I had aroung...Heidi swapp bling cherries, MM patterned paper, Maya Road bird chipboard, pink glitter beads from SL and PP stickers! I am also still loving cutting out freehand hearts from sheets of wool! :)

{Quickie Thank-Yous}

My sister thought up the concept for this quick thank you card. She bought these really pretty reindeer cards at Michael's. They originally retailed for $1. I had seen them and thought they were so cute but never bought any. Then she picked them up at either 50% or 75% off, I can't remember, after Christmas. I stamped "thanks so much" from my PTI Mixed Messages set in silver metallic ink on the reindeer. Then as another special handmade touch, I stamped a snowflake from Pine's Snowfall Additions on the PTI adhesive sheets and punched it out with my Marvy snowflake punch, giving my cards a cute little closure. It's kind of hard to see in the photo. Anyway, 20 of these took about 5 minutes total! That way I can spend more time actually writing the thank you notes :-) Have a great Friday!

One question--does anyone know why when you click on my photos, they don't enlarge? I'm doing the same thing I always did when I upload and lately, they don't enlarge. Help :-) Thanks!

{Color Challenge for 2009}

Happy New Year! I just made a quick card for Kristina Werner's color inspiration using SU rose red, pretty in pink (substituted PTI sweet blush), old olive (subbed PTI ripe avocado), and whisper white (PTI white). I used my new causeabella from Stamping Bella. The card is a wish for a happy 2009 for a colleague who has just finished chemo and is beginning radiation. I've been wanting to make a card for her for some time.

Hope you had a great day. Mine was not so great but I did manage to purchase a Project 365 CK Kit of the Month despite the unbelievable troubles the company had managing the rush of scrapbookers trying to buy one. It took me 30 minutes but I finally got it to go through. It's a pretty cool idea--I'm excited to focus on photography a little more in 2009. This is the perfect way to incorporate my love of scrapbooking with something new.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you enjoyed great times & great food with your family and friends. My sister and family surprised us all and bought plane tickets at the last minute so they are all in town. It has been a busy few days. They left this morning to visit her husband's family in MD for the night so I have a little bit of quiet back :-) What better way to spend a little down time than to be part of the PTI December blog hop. As soon as I received this Christmas card from a friend, I knew I would use it to make a new card. The card is from Quotable Cards--I absolutely *love* their products. My sister and I are on a roll today so be sure & scroll through all the posts. I saw this idea on the blog of a designer for CupCards {to go}. Of course I can't find it right now :-) Anyway, the example of a Christmas spirit jar I saw had a little Melissa Frances ticket with the quote on it. As it turns out, my kit didn't come with that exact quote so I printed it out on the computer myself. I just put some Martha Stewart glitter in a canning jar, covered the top with patterned paper, tied on some ribbon and other embellishments that came from my CupCards kit. I'm going to give this to my secret pal at work. Should hopefully brighten her day!

{A Photo Gift}

One thing I love doing is framing photos as gifts. A fun easy to-make meaningful gift that will last forever! Lucky for me, my sister had photos professionally done by a mom (Amber) in her "mom's group". She did a great job! I chose a photo of each of my sister's kids in black and white and framed it for my parents & brother for Christmas. I think it turned out great. Michael's has frames for 50% off. At least they did yesterday.

On another note, my kitchen is a mess right now...I'm making Mish's cocktail crackers for another slew of holiday gifts....they are tasting YUMMY! I've been wanting to make them ever since she so graciously offered the recipe on her blog. She has tons of cute ideas. Anyway, scroll down...we've got several posts today. Happy Sunday!

Another Jar Gift

Bath Salt Nifty Gifty

I am so thrilled with how this little gift turned out! I bought a huge bottle of bath salts at Target in the bath aisle (mine are Mango) and re-packaged them into 3 half pint canning jars. I used some misc papers, rhinestones, ribbons and flowers to create a whole new gift package and I was able to create 3 jars from just one bottle of bath salts. The bath salts are approx. $15 and the canning jars come in a pack of 4 for about $5. So cute! Thanks for peeking in today! Lisa

Here is a cute packaging idea for your next ornament exchange! I used an old PTI stamp container and "refurbished" it to hold an ornament. In sticking with my sweets theme (Taylored expressions cupcake set) I purchased a sugared lollipop ornament from Target! Too cute! I want to keep it for myself! :)

Christmas Cone

This is a gift for the secretary at my daughter's school. I made the cone out of patterned paper and decorated it with some of my leftovers from my Scarlet Lime kit. I also used my nestabilities for the first time :) and a new stamp that I got from Whiff of Joy! Inside is nestled in a couple gourmet hot chocolate packs and some chocolate covered peppermint sticks. So easy! The last step was to punch holes and thread the ribbon through. {A Pizza Santa Box}

Good morning everyone! I went to a holiday craft show yesterday and picked up this cute little Santa ornament for my secret pal at work. I love these ornaments. They are decorated with football teams, college teams, or high school teams. I packaged the ornament in a scor-pal pizza box and used my brand new scor-tape from PTI. I love it!!! I'm wondering if it's as tacky as the red kind but it is way easier to use!! You can just rip it with your fingers and it doesn't stick to your fingers since it has a peel-away backing. I paired PTI colors plum pudding and summer sunrise to match the college colors and used my Kim Hughes Heart Warmers set. The ribbon is also summer sunrise from PTI. I bought some other ornaments that I'm going to package in the little pizza box. So easy!! Loving the scor-pal we received on the Stamp+Cruise...if you don't have one, you should put it on your list for Santa. It is truly an amazing tool. It looked way too complicated to use so I never bought one but it is so easy to use. Thanks Scor-Pal!!

I just absolutely love all things Kim Hughes. Her sets make card making a total snap. I literally whipped these up in 10 minutes! Both images are from her Christmas Critters line and can be found at CHF. I paired the images with a couple Cosmo Cricket journal cards and put them on a My Mind's Eye Christmas card, some Martha Stewart chunky glitter and voila...Have you seen her new Easter set? Cute Birthday Invitations...

I made 8 birthday invitations for our neighbor's birthday party. She was going to hand them out at school. Inside the tube is a birthday party invite and a chocolate covered candy cane. I used toilet paper rolls and rolled them in colored tissue paper and then wrapped them in patterned paper. I thought that they turned out really cute. Can you see a bunch of high school girls standing in the hallway right now, ripping them open? ;)

A Teacher Gift

This is a door sign for my daughter's teacher. I took a piece of cardboard and cut it down and applied Tim Holtz's Crackle paint to the outer sides which are visible. Then I used PTI blush for the cardstock background and ribbon and used a thick glue to adhere the buttons to the white cardstock. I think it turned out really cute and it will go with her monogramed theme gift I am giving her. Thanks for looking! I am having a very crafty weekend! Tha mojo is flowing... Lisa

I just recently found this site and can I tell you I am already a huge fan! I made 12 cards from this kit last night! I am so loving the kit and this company that makes card kits monthly. My sister came for Thanksgiving and we had so much fun! We went to see the movie Four Christmases which was hysterical and highly recommended and then we did a "sisters stamp camp." We cased a few of the cards. The Joy card is cased from kWerner's blog. The ribbon trees were a case we found while looking around also, but when we went back to credit the blog, we couldn't find it...so sorry. It was a very cute idea and I had seen it a couple times before, but we just used a whole bunch of ribbon scraps and they came out so cute! Sister is on her way home now, so she will post her cards from home! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends!

{It's a PTI Floral Frenzy}

Good evening! I've had some camera issues, some computer issues, etc. so I'm in a mad dash to get my card posted. Here's some details on the card---*love* love* love* PTI Ripe Avocado & Dark Chocolate along with Vintage Cream. The stamp and flower are from my November Scarlet Lime Kit though I did deconstruct the flower to add a layer of an old book page :-) Love that trick. I ran down to my basement to find one I could live with cutting up--all in the name of creativity of course. The flower is made from a layer of cordoroy velvet, a crinkled piece of patterned paper, an old book page, and that kind of fabric that keeps rugs from slipping around. Don't you love my technical explanation, he he. I also used PTI Polka Dot Basics and my threading water punch. Enjoy the blog hop & Happy Thanksgiving!

{A Christmas Cigar Box}

Of course it's not full of Opus X or Ashtons but beautiful monogrammed stationery. I have been wanting to do this ever since Nichole shared it during a PTI countdown one year ago. The unfortunate thing is that I don't think PTI carries the cigar box anymore but it's made by Cosmo Cricket. You might luck out somewhere else on the web! The stationery kit is PTI, the stamps are PTI, and the paper is from Crate Paper. The ink is Kiwi Kiss from SU. I made this for a co-worker for Christmas. It has monogrammed paper with a detailed paper strip at the bottom, envelopes and monogrammed stickers to close the letter with. The binding tape is from Heidi Swapp. This was a little time consuming but Nichole's tutorial is great!

{A Little Birdie Told Me}

It's my niece's 1 year old birthday party today so I stamped a quick card. I actually completely cased a card that we made on the Stamp + Cruise so Nichole gets all the credit. What I loved about this card was the metallic mist spray. On the cruise we used spring moss paper and the gold metallic spray. Since my niece's party is going to be pink and brown, I chose sweet blush and and tried out the silver metallic spray. The silver spray came out a little darker than I expected so I had to redo the base. I think I'm going to have to play a bit more with the silver spray :-) Have a great Saturday.

A Handmade Christmas

Well, it's just a quiet lazy Sunday here...hopefully you are enjoying the same. I've been in my stamp room most of the day. First I was trying to clean and organize...pretty hopeless situation. Then I moved on to working on a scrapbook from the Stamp + Cruise. One of my sister's bags never made it onto the ship. It had this scrapbook in it that she made me along with one she did for herself. We thought for sure they were lost somewhere never to be found. Thankfully we found the bag at the pier!! I was so excited to get this back and I know she was too. Anyway, I got it finished today but need to add some more pages. Here's the cover :-)

The other thing I wanted to post today are 2 of my favorite cards that we did using Stamping Bella stamps. I love both of these images!! I think the cards turned out really cute. We colored using mineral spirits and of course added some embella-ishments! EmilyBella is the funniest gal you could ever meet. She felt like a true sistah the moment Lisa and I met her. She is down-to-earth, genuine, funny, and so much fun to be around. Thanks for all of your generosity Emily! You rock!!

Another birthday gift I made for a co-worker....the stamp set is from GinaK and is called Festive Labels stamp set. Gina also sells the waterproof labels that come with a worksheet. You place the label on the worksheet so the ink doesn't get on any other labels. I personalized it using Papertrey Ink's Simple Alphabet. The colors are SU! creamy caramel and cranberry. I then made a tag to go along with it. It uses the Garden of Life by Alli Miles and Papertrey.

I've really been wanting to try this out so was excited to get one in our Stamp+Cruise goody bag. I love it!! Makes it so easy to make monogram notecards. I whipped these up in about 15 minutes for birthday gifts for co-workers tomorrow. I used some leftover supplies from the stamp camp I had at school for my girls. Double easy that I already had cards cut & scored. Packaged them in a PTI clear box and a belly band. Hope you enjoy! Nothing fancy but I like how easy they are. Good news--going to TX for Thanksgiving to see the cutest kiddos in the world...along with my little Hailey of course who I get to see more often. Hope you enjoyed the extra hour today! I did :-)

{The Amazing GinaK}

I don't even know where to start with GinaK. She is just the most down-to-earth, funny, talented, fun, spirited, and GENEROUS person ever! My sister and I had really enjoyed meeting her and her family. We learned so many great techniques from Gina. I am posting one of the cards we made. The butterfly is embossed with black embossing powder......then, we actually "colored" in the butterfly with a Niji watercolor brush and bleach. Yes, you heard me, bleach. It was the coolest technique and so easy. The card is much prettier irl but hopefully you get an idea here. Gina would teach us the techniques by having her husband Tom videotape and project to a large screen. It was so helpful to be able to see what she was doing. Tom was such a good sport. One day we were eager to see something she was doing and she said "Tom, why aren't you filming me?". It was hilarious! The sentiment is stamped on velum. Hope you enjoy! Meet the Celebrities of Stamp + Cruise...

No, NOT us, these ladies:
The super talented, Nichole Heady! So sweet! And you should have seen her husband passing out class kits. When Nichole was busy, we would ask David the measurements and he would know exactly where to score and exactly which stamp to use! What an incredible guy he is! She has the cutest family! Did I mention her projects were incredible???

Gina was so adorable and personable! She was so professional but lots of fun at the same time. AND, this lady can really wear some high heels! ;) Her husband was adorable too and was the official filmer while she was demonstrating each project. Her youngest daughter was an absolute hoot! Gina is also the technique queen and we learned a lot from her classes.

Emily is such a funny funny girl! I could see myself sippin' cocktails with her and letting it all hang out so to speak. She is so genuine and so very generous as all the ladies were! Her husband was so nice and funny too. They are really the perfect pair!

It was so fun meeting all of them! A huge thanks to you wonderful ladies. My sister and I had a great time. You should of heard us squealing when we ran back to our rooms with our goody bags and pulled out and inspected each thing! Your hard work paid off {I hope} as we all had the best time evah! Ok ladies! Are you ready to relive the Stamp & Cruise? It was absolutely amazing and I think my sistah and I have enough stuff to show you that we'll have a post a day for the rest of the year and still not show you everything. Can I start by saying that the cruise not only went above our expectations but beyond our wildest dreams!!! I still just sit in my stamp room like a little kid and keep looking at all the goodies we got like it's Christmas. Nichole, GinaK, and EmilyBella were generous beyond words! The other thing I loved is that these ladies are truly amazing women, generous, funny, down-to-earth and genuine. You know how sometimes you meet people and they aren't what you expected or hoped at all and the whole thing is just ruined for you....it was like meeting our long lost sisters. We laughed and joked like we'd known each other for years. You wouldn't know it from our occasional absence from the blog (mostly my fault) but my sister and I are a little addicted to purchasing crafty stuff :-) and after meeting these ladies, I feel like there's no place I'd rather spend my craft budget than Papertrey, GinaK Designs, and Stamping Bella. They rock!!!

Now for a few quick pics...first off is the freebie ribbon we got from Nichole. A yard of EVERY ribbon that Papertrey makes. Now I just need to put in my order for ripe avocado and ocean tides! Isn't it yummy! I put it on a clothes hanger so I could look at it all at once!

Next up is a card that we made in one of Nichole's classes. We also received the stamp sets Snowfall and Snowfall additions by Heather Nichols in addition to one of the brand new marvy snowflake punches that coordinate. Oh, and look at those purdy score lines. We got a Scor-Pal!!!!!!!!!!!! We learned how to use it in so many ways. Nichole did an amazing job of showing us how to use it to accent cards and Gina showed us how to make a gorgeous box using the Scor-Pal. Anyway, here's the photo of one of the cards we made. It's way prettier irl but hopefully you get an idea of what it looks like. So pretty in Aqua Mist by PTI! Hope you enjoyed ladies. My sister and I are feeling generous and will be sharing a goody or two via blog candy. Get ready and stay tuned!

Back from an Amazing Cruise!

We are back from our cruise and so excited by all the things we made and all of our goodies that the very generous ladies of Gina K designs, Papertrey Ink, and Stamping Bella gave us! Wow! It was literally hundreds of dollars of stamps, ribbon, embellAshments, coloring pencils, ink pads...and even a Scor-Pal!!! I will post some pictures as soon as I can get them loaded. It was great meeting these very generous ladies and we are so glad that we had the opportunity to go! It was an amazing experience and we loved all of the classes hosted by these women! There is talk of *maybe* doing it again in a year or so...we will see! We would definitely sign up again! It was truly a great week!

Easy Cards

Here are some really easy cards that I made on Saturday. I made 2 sets of 4 with various PTI sentiments and used the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch and a scallop circle punch. These came together in under 5 minutes! I packaged them together to give to a secret pal (a teacher) that my daughter has at school. It is a very cute idea, and the kids get to pick a secret pal to give little gifts to throughout the year. At the end of the year, they have a secret pal lunch. That's it for today!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and a great WCMD on Saturday. I was able to sneak in some playing time and came up with quite a few cards! Here are two that I made that are really easy and fun. I cased from Daniela and just loved the look of the cards all packaged together. You can check out her site here. I used PTI white cardstock, American Crafts paper and the trees and sentiments are from gel-a-tins...love those trees!!! {Cuppacakeabella--TC #35}

I work in a middle school and got the brilliant idea, along with another teacher, of sponsoring a "stamping" club. The girls were awesome and we loved it and so did they :-). Problem was, we were doing it every week, stressing ourselves out trying to come up with projects and get everything prepped for them in time for the club. We'd finish one week and then before we knew it we were scrambling to come up with ideas again. We finally took a break after sponsoring for 3 quarters of the year. The girls were super disappointed and it crushed me when they'd ask "Are we having stamping club this week?" and I'd have to say no. Well, my awesome stamping compadre got promoted and is no longer at my school. So...I'm reviving the club solo. I'm going to try once a month and see how that goes. We offer a lot of other cool crafty clubs for our kids and we all kind of compete for the same students. This should work out great...when they're not stamping, they can try scrapbooking or beading or knitting! I meet with my girls next week for the 1st time this year so I figured I'd better get on trying to figure out what supplies I have on hand and what we can do because I just grab from my own stash. Luckily I've stockpiled supplies like the crafting world is going under so I've got lots to choose from...my challenge is finding enough of something to do it 35 times over, lol. Definitely have some Halloween ideas in mind but I wanted to show them how to paper piece so I got inspiration from Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #35 and this is what I came up with.

PS Less than 3 weeks until my sister and I set sail for the Caribbean with the Bella herself, PTI & GinaK. We are so excited. Especially after seeing Gina's post today!!

My son's MDO teacher's birthday is tomorrow and I did not get a chance to make what I had planned, so I put this little card gift set together when I came home to bring to her this afternoon. I used the PTI clear boxes and put in 6 cards and envelopes and I included a variety of different themes! Hope she likes it. A Bird Masking

I just found this bird mask from Heidi Swapp and decided to pull it out. I painted on top of the mask, peeled it off and...voila! I love how it turned out! I was always afraid to use her masks' thinking it was a ton of work, but it was really very simple. Glad that I tried something new today!

On another note...What do you think of the new PTI release? There are definitely some great stamps in this release and some awesome Christmas gift ideas! Can't wait to try a lot of them! I am excited to see what new Christmas things they will come up with for October! Well, it is so nice and breezy out today and not 98 degrees, so I am going to go out and enjoy wearing jeans!! OK, so I am on a bird kick right now and good thing, because LilyBean's Paperie is hosting a challenge and there is a great prize to be won! This is my 2nd entry in her challenge. Here is a card I made from 2 CHF stamps...the new Mocha Chicka set and the School set both by Kim Hughes. The background paper is making memories and the chipboard tree is from Maya Road and then I added a bunch of buttons to the tree. I love how it is 3D. I did a lot of card creating this weekend and had so much fun! The kids behaved themselves and played with the scraps while I made several cards!! Overall, it was a good weekend. The only bad part was staying up late last night watching the premier episode of Season 5 Entourage and then watching Failure to Launch and the alarm clock this morning went off much too early! And even though I was awake, we almost missed the bus! Yikes!

I tore the edges to create more of an elementary element to the card. This is the schoolhouse from Kim Hughes and I added a red bling "diamond" on the schoolhouse for a fun effect! I think I am going to make up some more and package them for a teacher gift!

A very quick post this morning...just a little baby gift for a co-worker. I made two monogrammed onsies with the baby's first initial "J" on them and then decided to get creative and make one that says I love my "grandad", (my coworker). I think it turned out cute. I used Trajan alpha from PTI and also Brushstroke Alpha from SU. The ink is a palatte pad called Cote d azur or something like that, lol. I also made a card to go with it using PTI's Baby Blessing set which I absolutely adore. Anyway, happy Wednesday! PS I went back and forth between how to spell "grandad" or "granddad". The dictionary has both :-) That would be awful to hand make a baby outfit with a spelling error.

{A Busy Summer}

I cannot believe how quickly the summer has gone by!! I've had the chance to see my sister in Texas, visit her at family's house in PA, and see the sights of San Francisco. While I am sorry to see summer coming to an end in a few weeks, it just means that we're closer to setting sail on the Stamping Cruise with PTI, Stamping Bella, and Gina K. We are incredibly excited!!

I had the opportunity to go to a stamp camp hosted by the best SU demo ever, Christina Crawford! We made 3 boxes with 10 matching scallop notecards in each one. The idea came from the SU catalog. I wrote down how to make the box since I'm the type that would never be able to duplicate it without ripping the entire thing apart. If you want the pattern, leave me a comment and I'll update the post with it. The set I'm posting today uses the backgrounder called "French Flair" with certainly celery paper and ink and that yummy chocolate satin ribbon that you can't buy anymore. Maybe, just maybe, it will be in the new catalog but I'm not crossing my fingers.

I tried going for a vintage type feel with this card and I used several different products to accomplish it. I used the bird from the SU set Always (also SU was the punch for the paper). Patterened paper is from Scenic Route. The frame is from the MM Noteworthy line. Stamps are from CHF and MFT. This card is going to my Chemo Angel. It is a program I had first heard about from Heartfelt Greetings (Amy) and I love sending cards to my friend every week. She often tells me how they brighten her day. Here are 2 real quick cards I made this morning. I had an idea in my head and wanted to go simple! I think I achieved a clean, simple look. The supplies I used were, PTI white cardstock, misc items from my Polka Dot Whimsy kit, turquoise alpha stickers from Pink Paislee, misc ribbon, and a rub-on from Rhonna Ferrar. The butterfly is chipboard that I dusted with SU turquoise ink. Well -- spent a week with my sister and now she is back home! I almost had Declan give her a 6:30 wake up call, just so she wouldn't miss us so much, but I didn't think she would appreciate that! Happy Sunday!

So, I decided to make a few 4th of July cards and pulled out a stamp of the month set that I got at Cornish Heritage Farms in June. It had the freedom sentiment and an eagle. I paired it with the Jenny Bowlin paper and some Scenic Route chipboard stars, some cream SU ribbon and that I had my kids dig through my vase of buttons and pull out all the blue ones and...voila! Quick and easy and a little bit vintage. I think I am going to have to add a little extra postage, but I love buttons so it is worth it! Thanks for taking a peek!

I love this stamp for Cornish Heritage Farms! It is by far one of my favorite Rummage Bin stamps! This was a really simple card to make. I stamped the image in Burnt Umber Palette ink and colored in the image with markers. Need to get some Copics but I don't have any yet, so I made do with the ones that I had!

I made him a blondie since both of my boys have blonde hair. Isn't this just the greatest boy stamp! I hope they come out with many more! Stay tuned Saturday for our sister challenge!

Sorry that we've been MIA for so long--we're back today :-) Inspired by Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #10. I called my sis this morning and said hey let's do it so the challenge was on! Kristina chose old olive, bashful blue, not quite navy, so saffron, and whisper white. It's cool how you can create totally different cards with the same color scheme. I used Kim Hughes "U R a HOOT" and it looks like my sister also used a Kim Hughes set, one of the silhouette ones and her favorite Martha Stewart butterfly punch. Another Krafty Card...

So, I have just been loving using the kraft paper lately. This is a baby card that I made for my SIL who found out she is pregnant with #7! WOW! Better her than me! I used SU kraft paper, some mountain rose acrylic paint dabbers (love these!) and used a soft brush to sweep it across the card. The elephant and Congrats sentiment are from Melissa Frances. I ordered them on ebay. And finally I used a mega and giga punch. The ribbon is just from my stash and matched perfectly! Happy Monday! It is chilly here today and I LOVE it - it was 98 degrees here on Saturday! Yikes!

Here are two cards I made using Pine's white/kraft combo which I just love! The first card uses a Kim Hughes CHF set. Love her sets and they stamp so well each time. I still love rubbah! I used a mega circle punch to stamp more of the blooms and highlight them over the stems. My second card uses the U R A Hoot Kim Hughes set from CHF and I used the leaf from a PTI set to make the branch's leaves. Kraft paper and white ink from SU. Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there!

Teacher Appreciation Thank yous...

Here are 2 cards that I made yesterday for my son to bring to his Mother's Day Out teachers. I made them with the new Amy Butler paper pad from Michaels (did you get the coupon for 20%off your total order?) and my new Martha Stewart punches. I just love that butterfly punch and the flower punch leaves a sort of embossed look with petals that lift out. The large thank you sentiment is from Impression stamps and the smaller thanks so much is from PTI. For today's Teacher Appreciation gift, each teacher got 2 cinnamon streusel muffins that I packaged in white PTI sacks that are perfect for treats and such as they have a great liner inside! For tomorrow's teacher treats, I plan on making these! (Can I just say that Becky Higgins is so darn cute and her handwriting is adorable!) They are super yummy and even easier to make! I made them and they lasted all of a day (I also took some to a scrapbook crop and they went FAST!) Have a great Monday! Lisa

{PTI Sistah' Challenge Pt II}

To be honest, when I first saw "Simple Little Things" I just wasn't so sure what to think. It didn't spark any creativity in me immediately. So, after checking out the design team's gallery at PTI, my sister and I challenged each other to make a card using that set. Now, I will go ahead and admit that I like hers way better than mine. I will say however that I think mine turned out cute too and it literally took me only a few minutes. It features the anniversary set as well as the new colors, Summer Sunrise & Lemon Tart. PTI is awesome! I think I am really going to love this set. You can make elegant and simple cards in minutes. Enjoy this beautiful Sunday! Off to Costco and Michael's !!

PTI "Sistah" Challenge!

You know that challenge that Penny mentioned that we would have the cards up on Wednesday...Yea, well...it is Saturday (I know, I know) but here is my take on the challenge. I found this set a bit hard to get inspired by, so I chose to go the really simple and elegant route. Both cards use the PTI Anniversary set. I also used black Staz-on ink, SU Purely Pomegranite satin ribbon and ink (the sentiment is stamped in PP). I also used some new SEI paper that I scored at Michael's yesterday and the Martha Stewart butterfly punch that I have been wanting! The new SEI paper is so cute! It is a great color combo and a lot of the pages have embossing, foil, etc. So...here are my two cards that I made today. One is going to be given to my neighbor who is celebrating her Confirmation today! Thanks for looking!

Mini Album

This is a mini album I am starting for summer. We will be having lots of changes in the house in August. One of my kids will be starting kindergarten and the other will be going to "school" full time! We will be on a tighter schedule in the fall so I wanted to make a summer album for all the fun days leading up to these two HUGE events in my house.

The album is from Scenic Route and the paper/flowers/buttons and ribbon is from my Scarlet Lime April kit. You definitely have to check out Scarlet Lime! I LOVE her kits! She definitely takes you out of your 'safety' zone when it comes to scrapbooking. I haven't added any ribbons on the ring yet, as soon as I have all the pages decorated it will be bursting with yummy colorful ribbon. This is only the cover! Thanks for looking and stopping by!

{A Baby Gift, PTI Style}

My sister and I have challenged each other to make a card using PTI's new Anniversary set. I do like the set but it doesn't scream out to me as much as other ones have so I've been struggling with what to make or how to use it. I've spent some time checking out samples I can find on different blogs. Lisa & I will post our cards in the next few days. For today, I'll share a sweet baby gift I made for my sister and gave her a few months back. It includes a 6x6 album by Making Memories and an altered clipboard by Pinecone Press. The clipboards were really hard to find for some reason. I ended up buying it from Paper Popsicles. To understand how fabulous this gift really is, you need to go to Nichole Heady's blog to look at her sample. There's even a downloadable calendar which is part of why this gift is so cool. You keep track of baby's milestones during the first year by writing on the calendar, keeping it handy on the clipboard, and scrapping a page to go with that month. Have a great evening!

{Bloggers Who Inspire Me}

It was so exciting to receive the Arte y Pico award! We put a lot of thought into our blog but just haven't gotten into daily blogging due to lack of time so it was extra special to be recognized for our efforts when we still probably have only a few readers, lol. As summer draws near though I'm hoping to spend more time creating! So, I get to pick 5 bloggers who inspire. Hmmmmm?

I spend way too much time checking out other people's blogs and not enough time on my own. When I'm short on time even for that there are two blogs that I always stop by. Mostly because I love the products they use and they've gotten to blogging every day. They both happen to be PTI designers. Alli Miles & Melissa Bickford. At the blog hop over at Papertrey Ink, I found a new blogger who inspires me, Amber at the Stamping Scrapbooker. She lives in Japan! Crazy how small the blogging world is.

Now, for a few special folks...Shari Barnes inspired me to make those yummy cupcakes which won our blog the award. Check out her blog. Her cupcakes are amazing! She's a digiscrapper and that inspired me to take the Photoshop class. My last choice for the award give-back is Amy Westerman who inspired the card I'm going to post today. It was a RAK from my sister and uses stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. There is a notebook paper backgrounder as well as the nature's silohuettes stamps. I'm not sure where she got the cool flower she added or the sentiment stamp. Amy made a card like this a few weeks ago and we loved it so my sis' case'd it. Hope that's okay Amy! So simple because it's only one layer but it's gorgeous and looks awesome irl. Anyway, hope you enjoy. We had beautiful sunny weather in the 80s yesterday in the DC area and now it's cloudy and a little rainy. Enjoy your Sunday!
